TEKrecruiter / Social Recruiter / BaltoTechJobs

This Blog has some history to it, and rather than let it fizzle or fade due to lack of attention, my goal is to bring it back to life and offer it to a serious minded Baltimore-based Recruiter who would like to dedicate the time and effort to post local Baltimore Jobs and provide advice and assistance to Jobseekers.

The Blog started as TEKrecruiter, then became Social Recruiter (for obvious reasons to those in the know).

It can easily be renamed TEKrecruiter for the discerning buyer. Or – “Social Recruiter” does have great marketing power as a name, and with the future of all things Social, it could become a Blog specialized for those Jobseekers and Employers.

I own the Domain names: www.TEKrecruiter.com and www.BaltoTechJobs.com and have built up a great Following on Twitter with @BaltoTechJobs. I have also recently added a new Twitter Profile @TEK_Recruiter. (Someone is using @TEKrecruiter, although not very much – it may be available in the future)

www.SocialRecruiter.com is not currently available as a Domain Name.

I will be Tweeting about this Blog and the Domain Names and the possibility for a combined sale to the right person. (Training is also available)

If you have interest in establishing a Technical Recruiting presence in Baltimore, or if you would like to add another element of “style” to your current Recruiting efforts, and gain a good entry into Social Media Recruiting, contact me directly and state your interest:

November Job Openings

Friday 10/31 saw the end to a fairly good week for I.T. staffing in Baltimore, all things being considered! What with the election next week, the still jittery economy / stock market, etc., we filled a fair number of open requirements and generated quite a few new requirements to get November 2008 off to a strong start.

This month’s local eNewsletter contains 7 of the hottest open requirements we are focusing on now for the Baltimore / DC area; links to some very timely I.T. Industry news; and additional information on how to get the most out of a professional relationship with a Social Recruiter.

Hello world!

Welcome to WordPress.com.

Consider this TEKrecruiter version 2.0 :-)

‘Back in the day’ I purchased www.TEKrecruiter.com which pointed to TEKrecruiter.blogspot.com and I regularly put Job Postings on the Blog and had lots of links to sites which had beneficial information for job seekers.

Then sometime around 2007 the Company I recruited for  added blogging to their branding campaign and turned it over to Marketing and wrapped a whole bunch of stipulations around what one could or could not say or do online “officially” when using their logo, etc.  I agreed with their position, and figured that was a good time to pull back on my blogging, so I ‘parked’ the domain name and deleted the blog.

Well, here it is almost 2009, and Employers are using Linked In and Social Networking to reach out to qualified (and elusive) candidates, and Linked In has added WordPress and other pretty cool Social Media tools to their Application, so it only seems natural that I take advantage of this new media and try my hand at blogging again :-)

I will make sure the posts are generic, but will also make sure they have value for job seekers and other recruiters who may be looking for links to online resources.

The blog may grow slowly, but please check back often, or subscribe. The content will be relevant and valuable.
